“☆☆☆☆ I contacted Moore Roofing & Design for a second opinion on whether my roof had enough storm damage to justify filing an insurance claim. Brian confidently told me it did. He said they had handled hundreds of cases, had never lost one, and that if the claim was denied, attorneys could get involved. He gave me every reason to believe they would stand behind their assessment. When the insurance inspector came out, however, Brian stood by while the inspector said that the damage wasn't definitively caused by wind, and even appeared to agree with him. Afterward, Brian told me it wasn’t worth arguing because “this isn’t the end of the road.” When my claim was denied, that confidence disappeared. Instead of pursuing the claim as I had been led to expect, Brian told me insurance companies “move the goalposts” and that sometimes it wasn’t worth continuing. He offered to replace a few shingles instead, even though he had previously said that replacing individual shingles would cause the ones around it to be damaged. I sought a second opinion from another roofing company. They involved an attorney after the denial, believed I had a strong case, and my insurance company is now replacing my roof. I understand that claims can be denied. My disappointment is that the confidence and promises made before filing the claim didn’t match the support I received after the denial.”
