Shiree Sauer, MD

I am a board-certified pediatrician, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and an advocate for the health care of children and their families. I focus on a comprehensive, goal-oriented, preventive approach to addressing patients and their healthcare needs. I am proficient in all topics related to pediatric primary care, including growth and development, asthma and allergies, pre-diabetes and diabetes, and sports medicine. My education and qualifications include a residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL, a certification in pediatrics advanced life support, and a board certification in pediatrics.

I’d like to be known as a person who not only understands medicine but also can relate to people on a level they are comfortable with. This means listening to my patients’ thoughts & concerns before offering my own opinion and caring for my patients as I would my own family. My own children are all grown, and my wife and I are proud grandparents. I’m a beach lover & an ex-surfer, so I always enjoy heading to the beach with my grandkids. At home, I like spending time with the three dogs that my wife & I rescued. Although I’ve been practicing for more than three decades, some aspects of my philosophy of care have remained unchanged. I compare preventive medicine to using a seat belt. It ensures the safety & well-being of every child.

Through early intervention, a pediatrician can promote good health throughout life. I work with parents to achieve this goal. One of my traits is that I am a good listener. I know that as a parent, you are my best resource in helping your child stay healthy. My goal is to partner with parents and their families. I served in the US Navy as a Pediatrician. After transferring to Jacksonville on my final tour, my wife and I decided to make Jacksonville our home. Being Georgia natives, we are close to our families. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, and going to the beach.
